Love at first swipe: Kat and Stu say I do at Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron

After swiping right to find Mr Right, Katarina put a fun spin on tradition at her elegant Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron wedding to Stuart.

This beautiful wedding has been featured on Easy Weddings – Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron, dominated as finalist for Weddings of the Year 2018. Blog as below:
“We met on Tinder over four years ago. I’d just come back from travelling Europe alone and decided it was time to find Mr. Right. We instantly bonded over a mutual love of classic Simpsons and British comedy shows,” explains Katarina, 32.

In planning their elegant wedding, the Melbourne couple were keen not to get caught up on minor details.

“We’re both pretty relaxed people and as a marketer I had a vision of what I wanted the end result to be, but i’m not caught up on the small details. It was all about ensuring that the whole day was fun,” Katarina says.

“We invested most of our effort and budget on the big ticket items that can make or break a wedding: great food and drink, great music, great venue.”

She and Stuart, 36, kept their ceremony traditional, marrying at Croatian Catholic Centre in Melbourne’s Clifton Hill on October 20, 2018 in front of 135 friends and family.

The Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron’s Harbour Room hosted the fun-filled reception, with celebrations spilling out to the venue’s rooftop deck.

“We had games at our reception rooftop for people to enjoy, a photo booth and an amazing band. We wanted to invest in key items that we knew would make the difference and people would remember,” Katarina says.

Stuart and his groomsmen were dressed in classic tuxes from Ferrari Formalwear & Bridal.

“We continued our classic theme with a Maserati limo,” the bride says of their wedding vehicle from Raco Special Vehicles.

“We moved in together after about six months of dating. And after about two years living together we bought an off-the-plan apartment. The proposal came not long after when we went away to his remote holiday home in eastern Victoria,” Katarina says.
