St Kilda Little Blue Wedding
Robin and Sophie’s St Kilda Little Blue wedding was one of my favourite weddings to shoot in 2018 so far.
Not because the bride was wearing a stunning designer bridal gown, or was driven by a fancy vintage wedding car into a posh venue with 500 guests. In fact, it was quite the opposite: their wedding was eloquently simple and intamete and that allowed our team to focus on the couple’s emotions, reactions and genuine love.
All about love, friends and family
Robin and Sophie’s wedding was blissfully simple and only included elements they truley cared about:
♥ A venue that resonated with them
♥ A live band that played their favourite jazz songs
♥ A down to earth celebrant who helped customise & personalise their vows
♥ A professional Photography & Videography company to capture the important moments
No bridesmaids, no groomsmen, no getting ready photos with bridal robe, no sea of flowers in the reception, no floral arch in the ceremony, no floor length dress and high heels that Sophie wouldn’t be comfortable in.
This day was truly THIER wedding day and the couple said they felt no pressure to do all the other things that wedding magazines tell you to do. “Our day, our way”.
Sophie and Robin’s wedding was all about their love, friends and family, and gathering to celebrate the childhood sweetheart relationship that blossomed into ‘husband and wife’.
A wedding ceremony that makes people laugh more than a comedy show
We’ve heard it time and time again from wedding guests: a ceremony that makes people laugh is one the guests remember most.
Most couples stumble when it comes to wedding vows.
Traditional wedding vows often is seen as boring, with guests tuning out before the couple is half way through.
Sophie and Robin were not like this. The fun-loving couple decided to share their quirky sense of humour and wrote vows about their funny love stories that started nine years ago.
We have never seen that many laughing faces in a wedding photos:
St Kilda Little Blue Wedding highlight video:
We have edited the best four minutes of Sophie and Robin’s St Kilda Little Blue wedding:
“We had our wedding photography and videography with Black Avenue Productions.
Cannot recommend Lowina, Derek and the crew enough – thanks to their outstanding photography and videography we now have a wonderful record of
our special day.
As a team they are kind, open and communicative. Dealing with them was a pleasure before, during and after the wedding!
They knew just how to manage a crowd, and how to get in dozens of beautiful posted photos in a short period of time.
I can’t thank you guys enough! Cheers”

“We got your beautiful USB presentation box and took your advice: keep the urge to watch the videos until we get home, have some wine and tissue box ready. You are right Lowina, we cried!” says Robin.
